About Woah Waves

It Started With My Own Hair

Woah Waves started because I couldn't find the products I wanted for my own hair.

Like many people, I had a hard time learning my hair and figuring out what products it actually needed and liked. As I became more intentional about what I was putting on my hair and scalp, I started paying closer attention to the products I was using. I found that many contained additives and ingredients that I simply didn't want to incorporate into my routine.

So, I decided to create something different

The first product I made was shampoo. I had always struggled to find a shampoo that gave me the lather I wanted while still aligning with what I wanted for my hair. Eventually, I decided to make my own. Once I created something I enjoyed using myself, I wanted to share it with others—and that became the beginning of Woah Waves.

All Hair Is Good Hair

One of the biggest things my own hair journey taught me is that healthy hair isn't defined by a certain texture, length, curl pattern, or appearance.

To me, healthy hair is simply hair that is cared for. Learning your hair takes time, and finding the products that work for your hair can be a journey. My own experience with that process continues to influence the products we create at Woah Waves today.

I wanted Woah Waves to offer straightforward hair care without unnecessary catches. Our goal is to create products that serve a genuine purpose in your routine while being intentional about what goes into them.

Our customers are at the center of what we do.

When developing a new product, I don't want to create something simply because we can. It needs to serve a purpose. We listen to customer feedback, pay attention to what your hair needs, and use that information when developing and improving our products.

That's one of the things that makes Woah Waves different. We're hands-on with what we create, and every batch is held to a high standard because these aren't products I would only sell to someone else—they're products I use too.

Some of my personal favorites are our Strawberry Lemonade Shampoo Bar, Original Hair Butter, and Essential Hair Oil. They're part of my own hair-care routine, just like they've become part of many of yours.

Woah Waves began with me trying to understand and care for my own hair. Today, it's about helping you do the same with yours.
